Annual returns: Hong Kong
An annual return order returns the image of Form NAR1 as the company filed it with the Companies Registry, for the year or years you name. Section 662 of the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622) requires every Hong Kong company to file one each year; a private company files within 42 days after the anniversary of its incorporation. The form states the registered office, the company secretary, the directors with their particulars, the issued share capital, and the members with the shares each holds and any transfers since the last return. A public company's return has its financial statements attached.
Compliance teams order the latest return as the evidence of a company's shareholders, since the company particulars report takes its shareholder table from it. Lenders, auditors and litigators order a run of returns to see how directors and holdings have changed over time. Company secretaries order them when taking over a client whose records are incomplete.
Send the company name or business registration number and the year, or ask for the latest. The document comes back as a PDF image of the filed form, in the same thread or through the API. Which years are available depends on what the Registry holds for the company; the company particulars report lists them with their filing dates and page counts.

Which years can we order?
Any year the Companies Registry holds for the company. A company particulars search lists the returns on file with their filing dates, and you can order from that list in the same thread.
Is the return the same as the company particulars report?
No. The particulars report is the Registry's current summary. The annual return is the document the company itself filed and signed, which is what a file keeps as evidence of shareholders.
How quickly does it arrive?
The turnaround is confirmed with the order. Returns are retrieved from the Registry as document images.
Can we order the return and the company particulars together?
