Company search: Mainland China

A Mainland China company search returns the company's registration record held by the State Administration for Market Regulation (国家市场监督管理总局) and its local bureaus, as published on the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (国家企业信用信息公示系统), translated into English with the Chinese kept alongside. The report gives the company name, Unified Social Credit Code, legal representative, registered and paid-in capital, date of establishment, business term, company type, registration authority, operating status, registered address, industry and business scope. It then lists the shareholders and their contributions, the key management, external investments and branches, the history of registration changes, and the public risk records: litigation, enforcement, equity pledges and freezes, chattel mortgages, administrative penalties and whether the company is on the abnormal operations list.

Banks, insurers and trade finance teams in Hong Kong order it to onboard or review a Mainland counterparty. Procurement and supply chain teams order it on suppliers. Law firms and investment teams order it before a transaction. The one-page summary at the front lets an analyst decide whether to read further.

Send the Chinese name or, better, the Unified Social Credit Code; English names are not unique and the agent will ask for the code if the name is ambiguous.
