Cayman search products and authorised certificates have different scopes.
Cayman search products and authorised certificates have different scopes.
Cayman Islands companies, including the exempted companies used as funds and holding vehicles, are registered with the General Registry under the Registrar of Companies. A public search shows the company's name, number, type, status, date of registration and registered office. Since 1 October 2019 the names of a company's current directors and alternate directors can be inspected for a fee. The register of members of an exempted company is not public. Beneficial ownership is not on a public search, but since 28 February 2025 a person with a legitimate interest can apply to see it.
Fill Easy returns the Cayman company search report, the list of current directors and, where the client has authority from the company, a certificate of good standing, as PDFs by email or through the API. Price and turnaround are confirmed with the order, and every result records the source, the retrieval time and the request ID.
Registry
Cayman Islands Government, Ministry of Financial Services and Commerce
The General Registry, a department under the Ministry of Financial Services and Commerce headed by the Registrar-General, keeps the registers of companies, partnerships, trusts and non-profit organisations under the Companies Act (2025 Revision) and related Acts. Companies are formed and maintained through a licensed corporate services provider that acts as registered office. Filings go through the Registry's online systems: the Corporate Administration Platform (CAP) for agents, CORIS for service providers licensed by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, and the Cayman Business Portal (CBP) for resident companies.
Registered users of the Registry's online payments and search service can buy a basic information search, which returns the entity's name, number, type, status, date of registration and registered office address; the list of directors; and a detailed search report that summarises the company's constitutional documents. The same service takes applications for legitimate-interest access to beneficial ownership information. Certificates, other than certificates of termination, are issued only to the company's principals or their authorised personnel.

Company registration number
A numeric registration number (the entity file number) assigned by the Registrar on incorporation or registration, with no letters. It appears on the certificate of incorporation and is entered, with the authorisation code printed on the certificate, to verify any certificate or stamped document the Registry issues.
| Document | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Company search report | The entity's name, registration number, type (for example exempted company or limited liability company), status, date of registration and registered office address. |
| List of current directors | The names of the company's current directors and alternate directors from the register of directors and officers filed with the Registrar, which the Companies Act requires the Registrar to make available. Only the names: addresses, former directors and officers other than directors are not included. |
| Detailed inspection report | A summary of the constitutional documents on file: memorandum and articles, changes of name, capital and registered office, and any registered charges or liquidation filings. |
| Certificate of good standing | The Registrar's certificate of the company's legal standing with the Registry; it is not offered for a company that is not in good standing. It is issued only to the company's principals or their authorised personnel, has no expiry date (the Registry suggests 30 days), and can be verified online with the entity file number and authorisation code. |
| Certificate of incorporation | A certified copy of the certificate with the company's name, number and date of incorporation. |
| Certificate of incumbency | A statement of the current directors and officers, and in some forms the shareholders, issued by the registered office provider on the company's instruction, not by the Registry. |
No. An exempted company's register of members is kept at its registered office and is not filed with the Registrar or open to public inspection. Only a non-exempted company's register may be inspected, at its registered office. Shareholders of a Cayman company are established from the company's own documents, such as a certificate of incumbency.
Partially. Since 1 October 2019 the names of a company's current directors and alternate directors can be inspected at the General Registry for a fee, from the register of directors and officers the company files. The public inspection does not show addresses, former directors or non-director officers.
The company's name, registration number, type, status, date of registration and registered office. A detailed inspection adds a summary of the constitutional documents on file. Fill Easy returns these as a PDF report.
The Registrar issues it only to the company's principals or their authorised personnel, usually through the registered office provider on CBP or CORIS, and not at all while the company is out of good standing. Fill Easy orders it where the client has the company's authority; the price and turnaround are confirmed with the order. Each certificate can be verified on the Registry's website with the file number and authorisation code.
A company registered under the Companies Act that carries on business mainly outside the Cayman Islands. It is the usual form for funds, SPVs and holding companies owned from Hong Kong, and its register of members is not public.
