A Chilean company search starts by choosing RES or the traditional Commerce Register.
Chile has a simplified electronic Registro de Empresas y Sociedades (RES) and a traditional registration route involving the relevant Registro de Comercio. Determine which regime holds the company before choosing a certificate or searching a local register.
The RUT is the tax identifier used to match the company across records. An international search request should include the exact legal name, RUT, legal form, registered location and known registration regime. Access and available evidence are confirmed for the request.
Registry
Registro de Empresas y Sociedades; Registro de Comercio
Ministry of Economy for RES; the competent traditional registry custodian for Commerce Register records
RES, also known through the Tu Empresa en un Día service, is the simplified electronic registration system. It supplies company information and certificates within that regime. A company formed through the traditional route may have its relevant acts in the local Commerce Register rather than an RES record.
Traditional registration evidence can include the company instrument, its registered extract and relevant Official Gazette publication. Establish the competent custodian and the date or reference of the act being reviewed. A company may also have a documented migration between regimes.

Tax identifier (RUT), with RES or traditional registry references
The RUT includes a number and check character, which may be K; preserve the complete value and leading zeroes where shown. Keep traditional volume, entry, year and custodian details, or the relevant RES document reference, separately from the tax identifier.
| Document | What it shows |
|---|---|
| RES company certificates | Available certificates such as the updated statute, existence and annotations within the simplified regime. Select the actual product and read its date and scope. |
| Traditional Commerce Register extract or certified copy | The registered company act or extract and its local registration reference. Current-position enquiries can require later relevant inscriptions or annotations. |
| Formation instrument and amendments | The company’s constitutional arrangements and later changes through the applicable regime. Original subscribers and historical partners do not necessarily establish the present ownership position. |
| Official Gazette publication where applicable | The published extract or notice associated with a traditional registered act, with its publication date. Publication is separate from the complete company instrument. |
| Company-held shareholder or partner evidence | Dated registers and supporting transfers or changes supplied through an authorised route when public certificates do not establish complete current ownership. |
No. A company may be registered through the traditional route. Establish the regime from its formation evidence and check for any documented migration.
No. It is the tax identifier used to match records. The relevant RES or Commerce Register evidence supplies company registration and filed constitutional information.
Availability depends on the company form, record and access route. Share companies may require their own current shareholder register and supporting records rather than only public formation information.
