Company search in Thailand

Thai companies and partnerships are registered with the Department of Business Development of the Ministry of Commerce. The registry issues the company affidavit that Thai banks, counterparties and courts rely on, keeps the annual list of shareholders filed by every private limited company, and publishes financial statements filed each year.

Fill Easy returns these documents from the registry by email to agent@fill-easy.com or through the REST API. Records are in Thai. Every result records the source, the retrieval time and the request ID.

Registry

Department of Business Development (DBD)

กรมพัฒนาธุรกิจการค้า

Ministry of Commerce (กระทรวงพาณิชย์)

The Department of Business Development registers limited companies, public limited companies, registered partnerships and foreign business licences, and holds the financial statements and shareholder lists they file each year.

Its free public search, DBD DataWarehouse+, is searched by name or by the 13-digit registration number and shows status, address, registered capital, change history and highlights from filed financial statements. The DBD's description of the service does not mention directors; the affidavit is the document that names them. Certified documents are ordered through DBD e-Service, or through the e-Certificate service at participating banks, and issued as electronic files or on paper.

The registry itself says the free data is only one component of verifying a juristic person. The certified documents below are what counterparties and regulators normally ask for.

Identifier

Juristic person registration number (เลขทะเบียนนิติบุคคล)

13 digits, beginning with 0 for juristic persons, for example 0105500002383. The same number is the company's taxpayer identification number with the Revenue Department.

Documents

DocumentWhat it shows
Company affidavit (หนังสือรับรอง)The registrar's certificate of current particulars: name, registration number, date of registration, registered capital, directors, the directors who can bind the company and how they sign, head office address and the number of registered objectives.
English-language company certificateThe DBD's own English rendering of the affidavit's particulars, issued through its English Business Registration Certificate service (encert.dbd.go.th) as an electronic file or by post, for use outside Thailand without a separate translation. The DBD lists fees starting at THB 1,160. The service can only issue a certificate once the company's director or partner names are held in English on the register, which the company itself supplies.
List of shareholders (บัญชีรายชื่อผู้ถือหุ้น, Bor Or Jor 5)The latest shareholder list filed with the registry, certified by the registrar: each shareholder's name, nationality, address, number of shares and share numbers, and the date of the list.
Memorandum of association (หนังสือบริคณห์สนธิ, Bor Or Jor 2)The founding document: name, registered office province, objectives, limited liability, registered capital and the promoters.
Articles of association (ข้อบังคับ)The company's internal rules on shares, directors, meetings and accounts, where the company has filed its own rather than relying on the Civil and Commercial Code.
Financial statements (งบการเงิน)The annual balance sheet and profit and loss statement filed through DBD e-Filing, with the auditor's report, as a certified copy.
Change historyThe sequence of registered changes to directors, capital, address and name drawn from the registry's record.

Worth knowing

  • Records are in Thai. The DBD's English-language certificate covers the affidavit particulars and can be requested from a general user account, but only for a company whose director or partner names are already on file in English; the DBD's user manual says the company must add them through its own DBD e-Filing account otherwise. Shareholder lists, the memorandum and financial statements come in Thai and need translation if the reader cannot read Thai.
  • No local agent is needed. The DBD issues certified copies through its e-Service to any applicant, and Fill Easy orders them on your behalf.
  • The DBD's e-Certificate guide (May 2026) lists the fee under the ministerial regulation at THB 200 per affidavit and THB 50 per page for a certified copy of a registration document, financial statement or shareholder list, plus the bank's service charge of THB 150 per affidavit and THB 100 for the first five pages of a certified copy (THB 20 per page after that). Registry fees are passed through and confirmed with the order.
  • Nominee arrangements are not visible on the register. The shareholder list shows the registered holder only. For foreign-majority structures, the DBD's foreign business licence record and the shareholder list together show the nationality split.
  • Public limited companies file under a different form set, and their shareholder information comes from the company's share registrar rather than a Bor Or Jor 5. Say which company type you are checking when you order.

Questions

How do I check if a company is registered in Thailand?

Search DBD DataWarehouse+ by name or 13-digit registration number. It shows status, address, registered capital and change history free of charge. For a document you can rely on, order the company affidavit, which the registrar certifies.

What is a Thai company affidavit?

It is the registrar's certificate of a company's current particulars (หนังสือรับรอง). It names the directors, says which directors can sign and how, and states the registered capital and address. Thai banks and counterparties normally ask for one issued within the last month or three months.

Can I get the shareholders of a Thai company?

Yes. Every private limited company files a list of shareholders (Bor Or Jor 5) with the DBD after its annual general meeting. Fill Easy returns the latest filed list as a certified copy. It shows the registered holders, not any nominee arrangement behind them.

Are Thai company documents available in English?

The DBD issues an English-language company certificate through its English Business Registration Certificate service, provided the company's director or partner names are on file in English. Other documents are in Thai. Fill Easy returns the registry's own documents and does not substitute a translation for the original.

What does a Thai company registration number look like?

It has 13 digits and starts with 0 for juristic persons, for example 0105500002383. The same number is the company's tax ID, so it can be checked against invoices and withholding tax certificates.
