Mauritius company disclosures depend on domestic or Global Business status.
Mauritius company disclosures depend on domestic or Global Business status.
A Mauritius company search returns very different results for domestic and Global Business companies. For a domestic company the **Corporate and Business Registration Department (CBRD)** makes the date of incorporation, constitution, financial statements and lists of shareholders and directors available to anyone, and its online search is free. For a private company holding a **Global Business Licence** or an Authorised Company licence from the Financial Services Commission, the CBRD's customer charter limits public information to the company's name, registered office and management company or registered agent.
Fill Easy can order CBRD documents by email or through the API as part of its company registry search across 60+ jurisdictions, including the company extract, filed documents and certificates of current standing. Price and turnaround are confirmed with the order, and every result records the source, the retrieval time and the request ID.
Registry
Government of Mauritius, Ministry of Finance
The CBRD, a department of the Ministry of Finance, registers companies under the Companies Act 2001 and businesses under the Business Registration Act 2002, as well as limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships and foundations. Filings, annual returns and fees go through its Companies and Businesses Registration Integrated System (CBRIS), and it keeps the Central Beneficial Ownership Register.
Anyone can search the register free of charge online, and an extract of a company's file is available online at no cost. Searchers can also consult company files or the terminals in the CBRD search room, for Rs100 per entity on the customer charter. Certified and uncertified copies of any document in the Registrar's custody can be requested by email, fax or at the office: uncertified copies are delivered within 2 working days and certified copies within 3 working days of payment.

Business Registration Number (BRN)
The number the Registrar allocates on incorporation, which the Business Registration Act 2002 treats as the company's business registration number. For a company it begins with the letter C, as in the Mauritius Revenue Authority's published lists of registered persons.
| Document | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Company file extract | The extract of the company's file that the CBRD makes available online free of charge, with its registered details and, for a domestic company, the directors and shareholders on file. |
| Annual return | The annual return each company files with the Registrar through CBRIS, a copy of which can be requested from the CBRD. |
| Financial statements | The financial statements filed with the Registrar, which the CBRD lists among the information open to inspection for domestic companies. |
| Constitution | The company's constitution and amendments, where it has adopted one, as a certified or uncertified copy. |
| Certificate of incorporation | A copy of the certificate with the company's name, number and date of incorporation. |
| Certificate of current standing | The Registrar's certificate of the company's current standing on the register, issued on request through the CBRD. Company service providers applying to the Registrar are asked for a recent one. |
For a domestic company, yes: the CBRD lists shareholders among the information any person can inspect, and its online search is free. For a private company holding a Global Business Licence or an Authorised Company licence, public information is limited to the name, registered office and management company or registered agent.
Use the CBRD Online Search, which is free and gives an extract of the company's file. Certified copies of filed documents and certificates of current standing are requested from the CBRD for a fee. Fill Easy can order them for you by email or API.
A Mauritius company holding a Global Business Licence issued by the Financial Services Commission under the Financial Services Act 2007. It is set up and administered through an FSC-licensed management company and discloses far less on the public register than a domestic company.
The CBRD's Central Beneficial Ownership Register is used by competent authorities and law enforcement agencies. It has no public search, so beneficial owners otherwise have to be established from the company or its management company.
