Indonesia’s AHU profile, NIB and tax number answer different company-check questions.
Use AHU for the legal entity and recorded shareholders. Match OSS business identification and tax records separately, then resolve changes or ownership gaps with supporting deeds.

Indonesia’s AHU company profile and its OSS business identification record come from different systems.
The Directorate General of General Legal Administration (Ditjen AHU), within the Ministry of Law, holds company establishment and amendment records. The Online Single Submission (OSS) system handles business identification and licensing. Tax identification belongs to the tax administration.
For an Indonesian limited liability company, or Perseroan Terbatas (PT), start by fixing the legal identity in AHU. Then match the other identifiers and documents required for the activity you are reviewing. A business number alone should not replace the company’s legal-entity record.
Keep the identifiers labelled
Ask for the full legal name, ministerial approval decree number, business identification number (NIB) and tax number if available. The ministerial decree can have an AHU reference with components identifying the legal act and year. Preserve the exact reference rather than reducing it to a short serial.
The NIB issued through OSS has 13 digits. The NPWP is the tax identifier and has undergone a change in format. Do not treat a legacy format as evidence that the company is invalid; label the number, match the underlying entity and request clarification if documents use different versions.
Search AHU by the exact company name. Confirm the decree reference and registered address before ordering a profile. A brand, abbreviated PT name or group name can identify several candidates. Resolve the exact entity that signs the agreement and receives payment.
Choose records from the correct system
AHU, OSS and company-held notarial records answer different questions. Specify the record you need and avoid referring to the whole collection as one live government report.
| Question | Record | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Which PT is this? | AHU company profile | Reflects information notified to AHU |
| How did it obtain legal personality? | Ministerial approval decree | A particular legal act and date |
| What are the constitution and amendments? | Notarial deed and articles | Deed availability may need company cooperation |
| What business identification is held? | OSS NIB record | Licensing scope still needs activity-specific review |
| What is the tax identifier? | Relevant NPWP evidence | Separate from AHU and NIB |
| Has a beneficial ownership filing been made? | Available AHU filing result | Public access does not establish the declared owner’s identity |
The company profile (Profil Perusahaan) can include decree references, address, capital, shareholders, directors, commissioners and the latest notarial deed on file. Read the actual fields supplied for the entity. Older records that have not migrated into the online system can require a different retrieval route.
A ministerial decree (Surat Keputusan Menteri) supports establishment or a particular amendment. Establish what the decree approves rather than assuming every AHU reference relates to incorporation. Match the decree with the legal name and the deed to which it refers.
Read shareholders as the last notified position
The AHU profile can identify registered shareholders and their holdings. Capture the relevant notification or amendment date alongside the profile’s retrieval date. A document retrieved today can still show the last ownership change notified earlier.
Compare the profile with the most recent relevant deed and company-supplied shareholder information. If the company reports a transfer that is absent from the profile, request the transfer and notification evidence. Record the discrepancy and whether it has been resolved; do not simply replace the official figures with an unsupported chart.
Share classes, capital changes and different stated dates can explain apparent percentage differences. Establish the denominator for each holding and the effective period. Avoid calculating beneficial ownership from a capital amount that belongs to a different version of the company record.
Corporate shareholders need further identification and tracing. Obtain their jurisdiction, legal name and registration number, then continue towards natural persons. Aggregate interests across relevant paths and consider control rights separately from economic holdings.
Directors and commissioners serve different roles
The board of directors and board of commissioners are different bodies under the PT structure. Record titles accurately rather than translating every named person as a director. A commissioner’s presence in the profile should not be treated as ordinary day-to-day signing authority.
For the person signing the transaction, review the company’s articles, relevant appointment and any resolution or delegation. Identify required approvals or limitations for the particular transaction. A current officer list is useful evidence, but the proposed action may need additional authority documents.
Request the notarial deed of establishment and relevant amendments where governance or capital history matters. These deeds originate with the notary and company, rather than being interchangeable with the AHU profile. Confirm availability and access before promising a complete deed set.
NIB does not settle every licence question
The NIB ties the business to OSS and can be read with its KBLI business classification and other available licensing particulars. Check that the classification and permission relate to the proposed activity. Incorporation and identification should not be expanded into a blanket conclusion that every activity is authorised.
Risk-based licensing can involve further conditions and records. Ask for the permissions and fulfilment evidence relevant to the actual service, location and company. Where another regulator is responsible, perform that check separately and match the legal entity.
For procurement, an NIB or registered address does not establish that a factory operates at the claimed site. Request operational evidence where the relationship requires it. Keep that evidence separate from the legal registration finding.
Beneficial ownership and accounts have limits
AHU maintains beneficial ownership declarations. An available search can confirm the filing position, but declared beneficial owner information is not a general public profile field. Do not present a filing-existence result as a verified list of the company’s natural-person controllers.
Request a dated ownership declaration and supporting records through a lawful route. Reconcile them with the AHU shareholder position and describe remaining gaps. A declaration requires assessment; its existence is not, by itself, confirmation of its accuracy.
AHU is not an annual financial-statement repository for private companies. Listed-company financial disclosures belong to the relevant market and regulatory sources. For a private-company credit review, obtain accounts from the company and label their source and assurance level accurately.
Order a matched evidence set
Send the full PT name, known AHU decree reference, NIB, Indonesia as the jurisdiction and required records to agent@fill-easy.com. Include relevant deed dates, amendment periods and any translation requirement. Most underlying records are in Indonesian, so retain originals alongside English summaries or translations.
We return available CorpVerify records by email or API with source, retrieval time and request ID. Price and expected turnaround are confirmed when the order is accepted. Deeds, historical migration issues and restricted information can require separate steps.
