A Seychelles official search shows current director names within a limited public file.
Seychelles IBC searches use a request to the FSA. Public director summaries, full registers and ownership evidence have different access rules.

The Seychelles FSA can issue a certificate of official search for an international business company. That public extract has a defined scope. It is different from the company's full director register, register of members and restricted beneficial ownership records.
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) publishes company-search guidance and the consolidated International Business Companies Act. Begin by establishing whether the entity is an international business company (IBC) or a domestic company, because the registration routes are separate.
Choose the correct registry
An IBC is recorded with the Registrar of International Business Companies at the FSA. Domestic companies under the Companies Act are recorded separately through the Registration Division. A domestic business search should not be treated as a search of the IBC register.
Match the exact registered name and registration number to the incorporation certificate. Check whether the certificate concerns incorporation, continuation or conversion. Those events can explain why a company has older documents from another jurisdiction or a different historical legal form.
Record the current registered agent where it appears in the official evidence. The agent administers statutory records and provides a route to authorised company information; its identity does not establish who owns the company.
Request an official search
The FSA's guidance directs search requests for IBCs to the authority rather than to a self-service live-company search. Provide the exact company name or number and specify the required document. Follow the current request and payment instructions.
Section 352 of the IBC Act describes the certificate of official search. Its scope includes company identity, registration events, registered office and agent, current director names and appointment dates, status and information about registered charges.
Keep the certificate's issue date and read each field within that scope. If a director field is absent, clarify the underlying filing position and certificate coverage before concluding that the company has no directors. A register result can reflect the records lodged with the Registrar.
Do not replace the official search with a search of struck-off IBCs. The FSA's struck-off search is a specific source for that category; the absence of a name from it is not a complete current-status assessment.
Distinguish director names from the full register
The public official-search record can identify current directors by name and appointment date. The full filed director register is subject to restricted release arrangements under the Act. Treat public names and the confidential source register as different products.
If the full record is required, establish the lawful route, such as appropriate authority from the agent or director, and confirm the permitted release with the custodian. Do not promise unrestricted director addresses or historical details on the strength of a public-summary search.
Compare directors with the proposed transaction signers. Where signing authority matters, obtain the company resolution, mandate or relevant constitutional evidence. A director's name on a certificate does not explain the limits of an individual signing mandate.
Choose good standing for a status question
Section 351 describes the certificate of good standing, including statements about fees and relevant notices within the Registrar's record. Where good standing is unavailable, an official search can still provide recorded particulars and status information.
Read the actual certificate and its issue date. Good standing does not establish solvency, absence of commercial disputes or legitimacy of a particular payment. Use additional evidence when your decision depends on those issues.
Ask for the incorporation certificate, memorandum and articles, and relevant amendments where identity or governance needs substantiation. Specify whether certified or ordinary copies are required by the receiving institution. Certification concerns the supplied record; it does not turn reported company information into an independent investigation.
Source members through the appropriate route
The company maintains its register of members through its statutory record arrangements. The IBC Act permits an election to file certain registers with the Registrar. Do not assume that a current member register will be available simply because other company documents are public.
Ask whether a register of members has been filed, what version is held and whether access is available. If obtaining it from the company or registered agent, establish the requester's authority and record the issuer, date and completeness statement.
Registered members can be corporate entities or nominees. Obtain the share classes, quantities and relevant rights, then trace the ownership paths needed for your assessment. A member list alone is not a beneficial ownership determination.
For a recent transfer, compare the effective transaction date with the record's stated date. Obtain supporting evidence where the transaction is not yet reflected in the extract. Keep earlier records when they explain the historical position instead of silently discarding them.
Treat beneficial ownership as a separate system
The FSA's beneficial ownership guidance describes records maintained through resident agents and the database administered by the Financial Intelligence Unit. Access is governed by the Beneficial Ownership Act and its permitted categories. There is no general public database search for an ordinary IBC review.
Apply the relevant ownership and control tests to the evidence you can lawfully obtain. Do not import a percentage threshold from another jurisdiction or treat a local filing threshold as the complete test for your institution's customer due diligence.
An authorised company declaration may help establish the ownership structure, but label it as company-provided evidence. It is different from an official restricted-database response. Identify unsupported branches, nominee arrangements and control matters requiring further corroboration.
Inspect charges without overreading the result
The official search records information about outstanding and satisfied registered charges within its scope. If a charge affects your transaction, request the actual particulars and any relevant satisfaction documents. Record the company number, registration dates and the security described.
A search without registered charges does not establish that the company has no debts, liens or contractual restrictions. Use financing agreements or other evidence when a broader assessment is required.
The same principle applies to financial capacity. Registry certificates and filed constitutional documents are not financial statements. Request the company's financial evidence separately where credit or investment risk depends on it.
Order a traceable Seychelles pack
Send the exact IBC name and registration number through our mailbox. Specify the official-search certificate, good-standing certificate, filed documents and charge records required. Identify any authority for company-held member or full director records.
Price and expected turnaround are confirmed when the order is accepted. Preserve FSA-issued documents, agent-supplied records and company declarations as distinct evidence sources in the CorpVerify file.
Can your Seychelles review explain what the public official search establishes and which ownership questions still depend on authorised company evidence?
