Obtain the corporate policyholder's registration, trade licence, constitution and addresses. Use the issuing emirate or free-zone authority for company evidence. Mainland insurers apply the federal and CBUAE framework; DIFC and ADGM have additional, separate regulatory rulebooks.
Company ownership and purchase authority
Cabinet Resolution 134 of 2025 requires checks on individuals owning or controlling 25% or more, followed by the specified other-control and senior-management steps. Obtain the relevant shareholder and control evidence.
Verify the representative and authority to purchase the cover. Retain the mandate and identify who may assign or surrender the policy. Record the insured person and premium payer; obtain supporting documents for another entity funding the premiums.
Beneficiaries under Article 12
At designation, record the beneficiary's name or enough information about a class or description to identify the recipient. Verify identity at payout or exercise of relevant policy rights.
For a higher-risk corporate beneficiary, apply the additional beneficial-owner checks required at payout. Apply relevant PEP measures and approvals. Obtain the assignment where a lender or another entity has acquired payment rights, and review new recipient instructions against that entitlement.
Keep the proposal, CDD, amendments and payment evidence under Article 25's retention requirements.
